the power of power mantras
When in doubt, say it out loud.
We all have times of self-doubt, whether we’re feeling stuck or lost. After leaving a full-time position and now working two part-time jobs and freelance, it’s easy for doubtful thoughts to cloud my mind. More recently I’d been struggling with negative thoughts, so I turned to the internet and ordered some self-advice books. Even when I was adding these books to my cart I was asking myself, “really? self-help books?? Sure, that’ll fix everything.”
I’ve recently taken to power mantras and affirmative thoughts. Somedays it’s about my career, my creativity, my home life, whatever I need that day. I’ve made myself a list to read every morning, affirming my aspirations and goals. The more often I read it, the easier it is to believe. And the best part? Some of it has already come true.
I can’t say if it was fate, or karma, or pure coincidence, but I believe in myself and the magic I can make. I recommend trying it sometime, I like to repeat them to myself before interviews, during meditation, or if I’m feeling totally out of whack.
Being your own #1 fan is a full-time job and requires a lot of practice.
